Program

The lectures will begin each day at 8:00 for 8.30 a.m. and will be interspersed with computer exercises.  Sessions will end at 5.00 and 4:00 p.m. on each day.

Computing

Attendees should bring their own laptop computer and the software will be sent for installation prior to the workshop.

The PCSWMM.NET decision support system will be used to teach the SWMM5 program. It may be purchased at the workshop for C$995 (US$995) - a substantial saving from the regular retail price.  The US EPA SWMM5 software can be downloaded from our SWMM pages.

Materials

Every participant will receive, included in the registration fee, 1. a 300 page workshop workbook, 2. the Users Guide to SWMM, needed to run the SWMM program, updated, indexed and revised as a handy, 700 page, hard-cover book, and 3. the book Rules for Responsible Modeling (300 pp).

Accommodation

Room bookings should be made directly with the hotel at tel: 905-677-9900, fax: 905-677-7782. The Stormwater Rate is only offered until February 5th, so please book your accommodation promptly. Room reservation may also be completed on line at www.hilton.com by selecting the city and province location, the dates, and the Toronto AIrport Hilton location; to secure the special rate, select the Groups and Meetings tab, and, at the foot of that page, enter "STOR08".

Location

The workshops will be held in the Dundas Room in the Airport Hilton Hotel, (5875 Airport Road, Mississauga, L4V 1N1) immediately adjacent to the Toronto International Airport.  Please note it is the Airport Hilton Hotel - there is another Hilton in Toronto.

Travel

By Air:  If flying into Toronto airport, use the shuttle bus which leaves every 15 minutes from the arrivals level for the Airport Hilton, Marriott and Holiday Inn hotels.

By Road: The airport Hilton is located on Airport Road, just west of Carlingview Drive, on the corner of the access ramp to Hwy 427S. It can be approached from either Hwy 427 North (exiting at “Dixon Road” - keep in the right lane initially to avoid landing up in the airport, then prepare for a left turn at the T junction), or from Hwy 409 West (exiting left - east - on Airport Road). A road map is available.

Parking

Parking is available behind the hotel at $2 per hour, or at a flat daily rate of about $15 for hotel residents.

Food Service

Coffee, juice, muffins, danish etc. will be available each day at 8.00 a.m. in the meeting room, and coffee and beverages at mid-morning, and mid-afternoon (when fruit or snacks will also be served).  You are on your own for lunch - the hotel facilities will probably prove most convenient.
